With-a-Camper was founded on an extraordinary campervan journey from Amsterdam to Bangkok, a trip that was as delightful as it was inspiring. This adventure led to a pivotal realization: by curating an exceptional collection of campervan experiences, we could help both campervan owners and travelers renting a van, to find even more joy from their travels.

Inspired by this trip our philosophy is that an unforgettable trip is defined by the places you explore, the activities you engage in, and the people you encounter. Our 5 point formula for a wonderful experience is then:

1. Experience the very best of the destination

With 'quality over quantity' as a principle we have looked deeply at what makes the nature, culture or history of this destination special... and how that can be experienced even more delightfully when travelling in a campervan.

Whether it is watching elephants and lions drink from a waterhole from your campervan after an evening game drive in a South African game reserve, being in the perfect spot to hike the Solaise valley in the French Alps or spending the night in the harbour of a quaint Cornish fishing village ready for an early morning boat cruise, our goal is to bring you the experiences which will make you delighted to be in a campervan.

We see that a campervan is a great way to make the activities that you are passionate about even better.

So whether your passions lie in being active, being creative, getting closer to nature, indulging yourself or just old-fashioned exploring, our aim is to help you enjoy those passions and enjoy them better.

3. Hosted by locals

It is often the people that you meet when you travel plays a very important part in your experience. We look for experiences where you will be hosted by local people who are passionate about their region and their craft. Where ever possible we will also look for smaller scale locations (activity providers, camping locations etc) such that there is more intimacy and personal touch. 

4. Tailored to campervan travel

Importantly we also work hard to tailor all our experiences to campervan travel. Here we work to make the very best of the great advantages of campervan travel (closer to nature, more flexibility etc) as well as to take into account the extra details of traveling in a camper (ease of parking, wet weather fallback plans etc).

5. Campervan travel can be wonderful at all times of year

While campervans are often associated with summer adventures, there are incredible opportunities to travel with a campervan in autumn, winter, and spring as well. Whether you're seeking snowy landscapes, blooming springtime scenery, or late summer autumn sun we have sought out the most amazing experiences for each season in a camper.

From the epic adventure that inspired us to build With-a-camper we see two further great ways to travelers have an even more epic campervan experience:

• One-way-trips: By taking a one-way campervan trip you have the chance to travel twice as far from your collection point, opening the door to a wider set of great experiences and the chance to unlock even more adventure. To help you achieve this we have designed a variety of ways to take a magnificent one-way campervan trip.
• Group campervan trips: The opportunity to meet & travel with like-minded travelers is commonly reported as the highlight of people's travel experience. So we have also worked to curate a a wonderful set of group campervan travel opportunities offered both by existing group travel providers as well as our own set of signature activity-focused group campervan travel experiences.
