What you’ll do: You’ll meet your guide at a protected bay where kelp forests grow close to shore. After a short briefing, you’ll enter calm, shallow water and snorkel through thick kelp canopies that sway gently with the current.
Marine life: While large wildlife is not the focus, you may see bright starfish, shy reef fish, anemones, nudibranchs and other small coastal species that thrive around the kelp.
Breath-hold coaching: If you’re comfortable, your guide can give tips on basic freediving technique, including relaxation, equalisation and safe short dives beneath the kelp.
Atmosphere: Despite being close to the city, the kelp forest feels quiet and otherworldly — a slow, meditative experience suitable for all confidence levels.
Equipment: Wetsuits, fins and masks are provided; sessions run in small groups for a calm and safe environment.
