Plan your trip

Top tips for this trip
Book private stands early as they are limited and fill quickly on weekends. Plan a relaxed day here — it is ideal after harder Cederberg trails such as Wolfberg Cracks. Bring swimwear and a light towel because river dips and the lake are part of the experience. Evening walks are beautiful — the cliffs glow softly at sunset. Consider dining at the restaurant on one night if you want a break from cooking.
Best time of year
Spring (Oct–Nov): Mild temperatures and long warm evenings make kayaking and cycling especially enjoyable. Autumn (Mar–Apr): Clear skies and comfortable days with crisp views across the valley. Summer (Dec–Feb): Hot afternoons, best combined with early runs and river swims; evenings are warm and perfect for braaiing.
