Top tips for this trip
Reserve the campsite — Spaces near the airfield go quickly in peak months.
Dress for comfort — Light layers work best under jumpsuits.
Bring a bike — Texel’s best beaches and villages are reached by cycle paths.
Plan ferry times — Texel ferries are frequent, but last departures are early evening.
Best time of year
Apr–Jun (Spring into Summer): Best balance of calmer skies, green dunes, and mild 15–20°C weather. Fewer crowds at the airfield and ferries, but plenty of island buzz. Ideal for first-timers.
Jul–Aug (Peak Summer): Longest days and warmest weather (20–28°C). Busy period with tandem jumps running all day and beaches alive with holidaymakers. Book skydives and campsite early.
Sep–Oct (Late Season): Cooler air (12–18°C) but still excellent for skydiving with crisp visibility. Fewer visitors, quieter ferries, and golden dune landscapes — perfect if you prefer more space.
