From Bavaria to Austria to Czech Republic there is an almost limitless number of excellent pairings for a campervan road trip that takes in the Tubingen Jazz Festival. The following is just one option to get you inspired.
Day 1 – Pickup & Arrival
Pick up your van in Stuttgart or Munich. Settle at a nearby countryside campsite like Campingplatz Tübingen. Walk into the city for dinner and take in your first performance.
Drive time from Stuttgart: ~40 minutes
Day 2 – Festival Immersion (Day & Night)
Spend the full day enjoying the festival atmosphere. Start with a lunchtime riverside jazz set, visit local galleries or markets, then end the day with an orchestral performance at the Sudhaus or a candlelit chamber concert.
Day 3 – Morning Excursion + Festival Evening
Take a short morning hike in the surrounding vineyards or stroll along the Neckar River. Return for late-afternoon performances and stay for a jazz night under the stars.
Day 4 – Full Festival Day
Dive into the day’s full programme: enjoy back-to-back concerts, artist talks, or genre-crossing sets. Enjoy dinner at a local bistro or your campervan barbecue spot.
Day 5 – Swabian Jura or Rottenburg
Do a scenic morning drive to the limestone cliffs and forest paths of the Swabian Jura, or visit Rottenburg’s cathedral and old town. Evening return to Tübingen for another concert.
Day 6 – Optional Festival Wind-Down
Spend one more day soaking up music or simply enjoying the city’s bookshops, cafés, and castle. If you're ready to move on, head toward the Black Forest.
Day 7 – Black Forest Edge
Head west to Triberg or St. Georgen for forest trails and quiet immersion in nature. Stay at a peaceful rural campsite.

Day 8 – Lake Constance Loop
Drive to Meersburg or Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance. Explore wine villages, stroll the lake promenade, or just relax beside the water.

Day 9 – Neuschwanstein Castle
Add an iconic highlight with a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany’s most famous fairy-tale fortress perched on a mountain ridge in Bavaria. Tour the castle and enjoy panoramic views.
Drive time: ~2.5–3 hours from Lake Constance
Day 10 – Return & Reflect
Head back toward your drop-off location with a relaxed stop along the way — perhaps in Augsburg or Ulm.
