Details route

Day 1 – Arrival in Sapporo
Pick up your 4WD camper in Sapporo. Stock up on essentials and make the scenic drive west through snowy farmland and forested hills. Spend the night near Niseko, the powder capital of Hokkaido.
Drive time: ~2 hrs

Day 2–3 – Niseko United
Spend two full days skiing the four interlinked resorts of Niseko United. With over 2,100 acres (850 hectares) of skiable terrain and 30+ lifts, Niseko is famed for its deep powder, beautiful tree runs, and a fun, international ski town atmosphere. Enjoy après-ski ramen, soak in onsens like Yukichichibu, and sleep minutes from the lifts.
Drive time: 0 hrs (stay put)

Day 4–5 – Rusutsu
Drive over to Rusutsu, a quiet giant with big terrain and small crowds. The resort features 3 interconnected mountains, over 35 runs, and excellent tree skiing. Ski long, flowing runs through pillowy trees, and enjoy evening access to a quirky indoor amusement area. Great snow and fewer skiers make this a two-day highlight for both thrill seekers and nature lovers.
Drive time: ~1.5 hrs

Day 6–7 – Asahidake
Head north to Asahidake for two epic days of ropeway-access powder skiing. There are no groomed runs here—just lift-served backcountry on the flanks of an active volcano. The single ropeway brings skiers up to 1,600 m, offering open powder fields and dramatic scenery. Stay in a quiet onsen village where steaming baths greet you after long days on the mountain.
Drive time: ~3.5 hrs

Day 8 – Furano & Return to Sapporo
Spend your final ski morning at Furano for one last taste of fast lifts, scenic runs, and excellent grooming. The resort boasts over 25 km of slopes and two main areas connected by lift. After lunch in town or one last soak in the Highland onsen, make your way back to Sapporo to return your van and toast the trip.
Drive time: ~2.5 hrs to Furano, then ~2.5 hrs to Sapporo
