From the lowlands of the Netherlands to the lush tropics of Thailand, this is a chance to see the world change slowly and dramatically around you: from Bavarian castles to Balkan monasteries, from the wild Black Sea coast to the high-altitude lakes of Central Asia, and on through the mountain passes of Tibet into Southeast Asia. This is not a fly-by photo op — it’s an immersive, ever-changing, life-defining experience.
And a campervan makes it not just possible, but remarkable. You’ll carry your comforts with you — a place to sleep, cook, rest and reflect — all while keeping the flexibility to adapt your pace, take detours, or linger in places that speak to you. Whether you complete the trip in 10 weeks or take 6 months, it’s entirely up to you.
The route we love most takes you through Germany and the Alps, down to the Dolomites, San Marino and Puglia. From there, you ferry across to northern Greece and dip into island life on Corfu before exploring Vikos Gorge, Delphi and Athens. Then it’s east — through Thessaloniki, vibrant Istanbul, and along the underrated beauty of Turkey’s Black Sea coast. After Georgia, you’ll either ship your vehicle from Azerbaijan across the Caspian Sea or (subject to current rules) apply for a transit visa via Russia. Then comes Central Asia’s dreamscape: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan — and finally northern China, Tibet and into Thailand.
How It Works:
You can choose to travel solo, fully in control of your pace and style, or join our group route, which offers the freedom to travel independently with the option to connect with others at pre-arranged checkpoints or along certain stages. It’s a flexible way to share part of the journey, exchange tips, and experience moments together — without being tied to a convoy.
If you don’t have your own campervan, we can support with sourcing a suitable vehicle for the journey, along with options for returning it to Europe once the trip is complete. You’ll also receive route planning advice to help shape your experience — from suggested highlights and seasonal pacing to border timing and fallback options.
There are two key parts of the route that require advance planning and specialist support: China and Azerbaijan. In both cases, we provide guidance and coordination for the permits, documentation, and logistics involved in driving through these regions. For China, this includes arranging the mandatory local guide who travels with you, and handling the process of temporary Chinese number plates. For Azerbaijan, we’ll help you assess the current options, which may include shipping the van into the country and securing local entry permissions where required.
