Overview
Breathe in the crisp Nordic air as you lace up for a long weekend running escape through Norway’s most spectacular fjordland. This 4-day trip starts and ends in Bergen and takes you deep into glacial valleys, up iconic viewpoints like Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen), and along pine-scented trails with sweeping views over the deep blue fjords. You’ll combine scenic ferry crossings, mountain roads, and hand-picked runs with rest stops in charming villages and wild campsites near the water’s edge. It’s the perfect Nordic adventure—intense, refreshing, and unforgettable.
Trip Highlights
- Summit Preikestolen with an early morning run before the crowds
- Camp at the edge of Hardangerfjord, waking up to mirrored water and misty peaks
- Trail run through pine forests with fjord views in Folgefonna National Park
- Optional paddle or sauna dip in a traditional fjord village
- Scenic ferry and coastal drive loop back to Bergen
Featured Experience: Choose Your Summit – Pulpit Rock or Trolltunga
Two of Norway’s most iconic viewpoints await:
Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) is a 4 km trail that climbs 500 meters, with dramatic views over Lysefjord. Many runners mix power-hiking and light running—especially on the descent, which is more runnable but still demanding on the knees. It’s a short, steep, and truly rewarding adventure.
Trolltunga (the Troll’s Tongue) is a bolder choice. Perched 700 meters above a glacial lake, the trail from the upper parking lot (P3) is around 20 km round-trip with 320 meters elevation gain. It’s a long but manageable mix of hiking and running for experienced adventurers—and requires booking in advance to access the shorter route.
Both are unforgettable—pick your summit based on your energy, experience, and appetite for distance.
