Featured Experience: Trolltunga via ferrata
The trip builds to a spectacular finale: the Trolltunga via ferrata. Unlike the long hiking trail, this guided route uses steel cables and ladders to ascend the mountain’s sheer rock walls, shortening the climb and adding adrenaline. After a steady approach, you’ll clip into a via ferrata line and traverse exposed ridges overlooking Ringedalsvatnet lake. The reward is reaching the iconic Trolltunga ledge — a tongue of rock jutting 700 metres above the fjord — with far fewer crowds than the standard hiking route. Standing here, having reached it by cable and cliff, is one of the most thrilling experiences Norway can offer.
