Experience Summary
Celebrate the Netherlands’ biggest national party from the comfort and freedom of your own campervan. On April 27, the streets, canals, parks, and squares of Amsterdam erupt in orange with boat parades, open-air dance floors, DJ sets, flea markets, and pop-up parties that last from dawn until deep into the night. With a campervan you can stay at one of two great city campsites — set on the edge of Amsterdam with easy bike rides or tram links straight into the centre. This way you’re part of the celebration, without the stress of traffic or inflated hotel prices.Experience Highlights
- Stay at a city campsite and hop on your bike or tram into the heart of Amsterdam
- Join thousands in street parties and flea markets across Jordaan and the canals
- Recover after the chaos by exploring the coast, lakes, or forests of the Netherlands
Experience details
King’s Day in Amsterdam is one of Europe’s greatest grassroots street festivals. Whether you’re on a canal boat, dancing in the Jordaan, or treasure hunting at a street market, the energy is unforgettable. With a campervan, you’re free to immerse in the party and then escape to the dunes, lakes, or forests of the Netherlands the next day – no need to check out or rush back.
Dates in 2026
In 2026, King’s Night will be on Sunday April 26 and King’s Day on Monday April 27. You can shape your roadtrip around this — warm up beforehand with a weekend of mountain biking, beach days, or cultural exploring in the Netherlands, or cool down afterwards by relaxing on an island, at the coast, or in the forests.
What to include on the roadtrip
The big question is what else to combine with King’s Day — and that’s where the campervan adventure begins. Will you recharge by the sea at Bloemendaal beach, go off-grid in the Veluwe forests, or feel the adrenaline at Walibi Holland? With your own wheels you can create the mix that fits you and your friends best.
